Last year, the inaugural edition of Art Basel Paris held immense significance for numerous galleries and artists worldwide. Arriving in the epicenter of art and fashion, the Grand Palais Éphémère greeted us, surrounded by a plethora of new exhibitions available during the art week. However, this year, in the wake of the global tragedies that humanity is grappling with, war looms ominously on the horizon. In addition to the art fair taking place this weekend, places like Versailles and the Louvre have faced evacuations once again. We are grateful to have been part of the inaugural edition, and we would like to share some of the experiences we had exploring the exciting offerings of the art scene for this year.
We look back fondly on our last visit during the commemorative first edition, where the prevailing themes were love and peace. We earnestly hope to return to what we call the "Status quo," recognizing it as a true blessing.
We condemn terrorism and attacks against humanity and the integrity of individuals.

Title: Peter Saul's "Ice Box #3", 1961
Price Range: USD 1,000,001 - 2,000,000
Description: Throughout his illustrious six-decade career, Peter Saul (born in 1934) has fearlessly confronted the events and aesthetics of history. His depictions of consumer culture and politics are infused with a unique blend of humor and despair, with cartoon imagery serving as a vehicle for the artist's scathing observations.
Painted in his Paris Studio during the artist's self-imposed exile from America, "Ice Box Number 3" marks a significant departure from the prevailing abstraction that other artists of the time fervently embraced. Instead, it unveils Saul's early signature style. Emblems of domesticity—cans, ovens, and leftover plates—are transformed into nonsensical, fluid entities that flow with the disjointed rhythm of a comic book strip. Viewing America from the distant vantage point of Europe for the first time, Saul began to scrutinize his homeland with a sharper focus, reevaluating the value systems associated with "high art" and the post-war idealization of nuclear domesticity.
Exhibition Location: Galerie Isabella Bortolozzi
Exhibition Information: Galerie Isabella Bortolozzi is delighted to showcase a selection of photographic works by the artistic duo Jos de Gruyter and Harald Thys, taken from their compelling series titled 'Objects as Friends'.

cameron clayborn’s practice addresses the relationship between vulnerability and power. Recalling biological masses and quilts with dangling threads, clayborn layers flesh-toned colored pencils, watercolors, and oil pastels with upholstery materials and photo transfers of the artist’s family members. clayborn’s tender works on paper feature prominent fabric piping and sewing, and are encased in unglazed frames so that their raw tactility remains uninterrupted.

Description
Sanam Khatibi’s work explores notions of animality and the primal impulses that we all share. At the core of her practice is a questioning of our relationship with power structures, and the duality of triumph and failure. The recurrent themes that feature in her work are chaos, destruction, excess, loss of control, domination, and submission. Khatibi is also interested in the thin line that exists between fear and desire, and how closely they are interrelated.
Her subjects live on their impulses, set within alluring, exotic, and dangerous landscapes. Wildlife and animals are an integral part of her practice, and her figures are often depicted within the same plane as the flora and fauna. Power, violence, and sensuality mingle, intermix, and overlap with each other ambiguously, giving rise to multifaceted scenarios that juxtapose the animal and the human, past and present, cruelty and seduction.
Her practice consists of paintings, embroideries, tapestries, sculptures, and installations.
